Painting

Oh the painting...the painting and more painting and more painting.

We spent more hours painting than we did on any other project in the house. It was solid work for many days at all hours. We had a painting party one night where we served pizza and had help from our friends the Zufelts, Brandon's parents, my brother-in-law John, and Brandon's cousin Brett.

I visited my local Benjamin Moore supplier and picked out our colors in about 2 hours. Talk about a super scary endeavor. I made a visit to that store every day for a few weeks to purchase more paint. The demand seemed to never end.

My friend Kim watched the little boys one morning so I could hammer out Charlie's room in a few hours. The best part about painting this house was that we didn't need to use drop cloths (because we'd be removing the nasty carpet) or tape off for windows, doors, or baseboards because all of the trim would be new. The bad news is all of the trim would be new.

This picture doesn't do justice to how high Brandon stood with that sprayer. It was crazy high.

Painting was instant gratification. I couldn't believe what a huge difference it made. Goodbye dingy white paint.

Mainly for my own records, here are our paint colors:

Brady/Clark's Bedroom: BM Woodlawn Blue

Charlie's Room: Martha Stewart Gabardine (thanks Jess!)
