New York Day 3

Friday, November 21, 2014

Day two and we were off. I do love that I wore a different outfit each day, but the same jacket and boots, which pretty much made it look like I wore the same thing on repeat.

Breakfast at Zuckers: Breakfast Bagel Sandwiches. Brandon loved this place so much that he came here once more for breakfast.
TriBeCa is close to the financial district, which is where the World Trade Center towers were located. The Freedom Tower was magnificent.

The 9/11 Memorial was somber and powerful

This particular name of a victim was heartbreaking: Rahma Salie and her unborn child. :(

They were finishing construction on a new part of the memorial.

We left the financial district and headed uptown to catch a bus tour.  Not impressed with the theater where The Book of Mormon was playing.

Let me tell you, it was CHILLY on the top deck of the bus, but the views were amazing.

Trump Tower

Museum of Natural History (Night at the Museum)

Grant's Tomb

We got so cold at one point that we hopped off the bus to go inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Brandon was really only wearing a thin jacket, he likes to think he's tough from all his year in Nebraska. :)

The Plaza Hotel

Rockefeller Center...they were getting ready to put up the big Christmas tree

We stopped for some hot chocolate at Magnolia (not very good at all!)

My childhood nickname

We made our way finally to Times Square. What a cool place, and I think one visit is probably sufficient!

Naked Cowboy...I don't know how he does it in those temperatures.

We hitched the subway back to the homefront, so happy with all we covered that day.

We had dinner at a cozy spot...I forget the name of it.

Then had ice cream at an interesting place

It was super, super good!
