Oh...the Pinewood Derby. This is such a fun activity for dads and boys, although I think it's dreaded by most of the dads. :) This year, Brandon and Brady decided to make a Weinermobile.
Brandon wasn't able to make it to the actual Derby because of football, so that left me in charge of weighing in the car and making the final adjustments. We used magnets to weigh down the car, including some underneath.
When the time came, the car was all set to go, and the cars got released. Brady's poor hot dog only made it halfway down the track. Everyone thought it was pretty entertaining, but it wasn't so funny to my 9-year old.
The best part was when some other dads stepped in and determined that one of the magnets I had put under the car was dragging on the track. After that, the hot dog became the underdog and everyone was rooting for it. That cheered up Brady, and in the end, I think he was pretty proud to be the owner of the hot dog. :)
